WhatsApp Companion Mode Under Development: All You Need To Know

For a long time, WhatsApp has been working on multi-device support. It released a beta version last year that allows users to use WhatsApp across multiple devices without relying on their primary smartphone. The platform is currently developing a new feature called Companion mode, which is related to the use of multiple devices. Read on to find out more about WhatsApp Companion Mode.

What is WhatsApp Companion Mode: Everything You Need to Know

WhatsApp Companion Mode allows users to link their primary device, such as a smartphone, to a WhatsApp account on a secondary smartphone. Customers are logged out of their primary device’s WhatsApp account when they use WhatsApp on a secondary device. A screenshot also reveals that when users begin using WhatsApp on a secondary smartphone, all data from the primary device is deleted.

As shown in the screenshot, companion mode allows users to connect their device to an existing WhatsApp account on their phone. Users are logged out of their current WhatsApp account when they switch to companion mode. However, doing so will delete all locally stored WhatsApp data, including messages and media. Customers can also use Google Drive to back up their current account’s data, according to the graphic.

The feature was discovered by WABetaInfo in WhatsApp beta for Android v2.22.10.13. According to the report, users will be able to use WhatsApp on multiple devices at the same time. Although this feature is available for a variety of devices, users cannot use WhatsApp on multiple smartphones at the same time. With Companion Mode, this might be possible. More details about WhatsApp Companion Mode will be released in the coming days.

Furthermore, WhatsApp, like Instagram, is focusing on quick status updates. With this feature, users will be able to respond quickly to WhatsApp Status. The feature will be available as an immersive way to respond to WhatsApp status updates. According to the source, WhatsApp is working on a total of eight emoji reactions that can be delivered from the interface that allows users to monitor the statuses of others.

What is the current multi-device feature?

WhatsApp currently allows you to link one account to up to four devices at once. Users, for example, can access their WhatsApp messages without a phone on their laptops and work computers. Users only require the smartphone when connecting WhatsApp to another device. This is accomplished by simply scanning the QR code with their smartphone.

Once you grant access to your WhatsApp account, you will be able to use WhatsApp even when your primary phone is turned off. This is a fantastic feature because there are times when your phone’s battery dies and you need to contact someone immediately via WhatsApp. So you’ll be able to do it on your laptop as well.

The new feature that distinguishes itself from this. According to one of the previous reports, WhatsApp is simply making it easier for users to access chats on a different phone. Instead of entering the phone number and then waiting for the OTP, users will only need to scan the QR code to log in to another phone, according to an earlier WaBetaInfo report. More information on this feature may be provided in future updates.

WhatsApp Companion Mode will most likely be released soon, and it will undoubtedly benefit users who have multiple devices. Are you excited about WhatsApp Companion Mode as well? Tell us in the comments section below.
