Devices That Will Get Android Oreo

Version 8.0 of Android named Oreo was made available to the device vendors on 21 August 2017. That was 5 months back. Even though the latest phones are being shipped with Oreo, not all existing devices will be lucky enough to get it. Since a lot of people have been worried about whether they will or won’t be getting the Oreo update, here is a list of smartphones that will surely be getting it.

Since Google owns the android project it always takes care of its devices and makes sure they get updated to the latest version of Android.

OnePlus has had only flagship phones and hence they usually get the latest updates. The following phones from OnePlus will surely be receiving the Oreo update.

I wouldn’t be able to count the number of phones Samsung launches every year using the number of fingers on my hand. The biggest smartphone company launches a large number of phones, each with multiple variants every year. Though there are rumors for most of these devices, there are only a handful of devices that are confirmed to get the Oreo Update.

Once the biggest name in the Android market, HTC hasn’t seen success lately. However, it has had some flagship phones in the last couple of years that will definitely be getting the Oreo update.

To be honest, Xiaomi is not very much concerned about the Android versions. All it cares about is the MIUI versions. MIUI is a custom skin of android built on top of Android. LG has been very particular about its phones and has enjoyed premium success with them. The following phones will be updated to Android version 8.0. Though the update for V20 might just happen, the G5 probably won’t get an update at all due to poor sales.

What if my phone doesn’t get the Oreo Update?

Well, would that really be a big deal?
