When you first boot into Windows Server 2003, your first screen is the Manage Your Server homepage. This startup utility can helpful in managing the roles of this server.
Administrative Tools
Administrative Tools are most used utilities by the system administrators.
To properly manage or for easy administration use the Microsoft Management Console, or MMC. MMC is a tool which has many plugins available for it to manage different functions or the server or the domain.
To open MMC by going to Start, Run, and typing in MMC. Click ok to open MMC.
By default MMC has a blank console screen. To add or remove the snap in follow the steps given below
- Click on the File menu and click on Add/Remove Snap-in.
- Click on the Add button at the bottom.
- Choose the snap-in you would like to manage. Click on Add. You have the option to manage the local computer or a computer on the network.
- Click the Close button.
