A motherboard is the central printed circuit board used in many different complex electronic systems.Also known as the system board or mainboard, as well. In Apple computers, this part is referred to as the logic board.
The main goal is to connect all the hardware together like hard drives, memory modules, CPU, etc
Motherboards provide the electrical connections that other components use to communicate with one another, just like a backplane.
